And so it was that on the night of the first harvest moon, a filly was born to the herd of Demeter. The Goddess knelt and laid her hand on the filly, marking her of the harvest. “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.” She whispered. “Ye shall be named Theristí̱s and ye shall be known for the reaping across the lands of the children of the gods.” Sorrowful this task is, for life shines bright like the harvest moon then is swept away in the blink of an eye, but your heart shall be filled with song and story of those passing and you will guide their souls to the golden fields everlasting.” The filly gazed into the eyes of her Goddess and knew her purpose.
Theristis is extremely affectionate, and full of the joys of living, a stark contrast to the task left to her by the gods. Her interpretation of reaping and sowing is to sow seeds of goodness and happiness in those around her, and to take away their sadness, grief and loss. Until that changes Theristis can be found teaching the younger horses life skills and joyfully galloping along the dunes in the rain.
